My husband ROCKS!/ Gingerbread House

There are definitely days that I would insert other adjectives in the title, but yesterday my husband was apparently abducted by aliens and replaced with a "perfect man". He got up and took Chris to school, took Bri to Preschool, went by his moms - she had a chore for him, went by Blockbuster- finally remembering to cancel his Game Pass, & picked Brianna up from school. Monday night I had bought one of those Gingerbread houses at Wal-mart. Aunt Tricia had given me a set of Gingerbread house molds- It was a sweet present, and one that I cherish b/c thats one of our (the girls and I) holiday traditions. But it is a LOT of work! I think we broke the roof last time and had to bake another one. It's just too time consuming- and then glueing the whole thing together with Royal Icing? Sure if you have 8 hands! The one I bought was Wilton and PREASSEMBLED! It was pretty cool. Nothing left but the decorating, which honestly is enough work. I am the official piper and the girls are the candy stickers- until it comes to the garland- thats my job. First we have to cut up the gummy sticky big green leaves into little tiny pieces and stick them individually on the eaves- not a big deal until they all fall down and you have to start over. Patience is NOT one of my virtues- I prefer instant gratification, and am glad that Christmas is only once a year! So anyway- the Gingerbread house project took a couple of hours. When we were finished I was cleaning up and realized that the trash can was missing from the laundry room- I asked Katherine where it was and she went to locate it. She came back and told me "It's in your dressing room- Daddy's cleaning out the closet. What did you do- threaten to kill him or something?" Well I hurried in there to scope out the situation- the last time he decided to clean anything up (his cleaning binges happen once a decade) he threw away my make-up! He seemed to have it under control and I let him declutter- I sorted through and tried to organize pictures. My closet looks so much better. We have probably 6 huge shelves that are tucked in inside our closet- behind the build in bookcase- unless you slid the clothes over you may not even know they are there. Some people would consider that handy, but its dangerous territory for a self proclaimed packrat like myself. Lots of space where I can cram stuff and not have to look at it? UH-OH! After he got out of the way- I went through the clothes- pulling out all the Goodwill stuff, and seasonal things that don't have to be in there. I dumped everything out of the dresser before going to bed that way I wouldn't be tempted to just leave it "as is". Apparently "Super husband" is gone- It's quarter to 10 and he's still sleeping peacefully... I was hoping that he would tackle the attic. Oh well, I guess I'll have to wait until next decade.
