I heard on the news the other day that they're afraid we're moving into another drought. They want people to start conserving water, and Raleigh is considering implementing water restrictions. I think this is just paranoia! Supposedly Buckhorn Resevoir is an inch below capacity. One inch??? Give me a break! It has rained 3 times this week, substancial rain- not just a little sprinkle... We had a really intense thunderstorm about 2 this morning. Tons of really loud thunder (not sure if it was accompanied by lightning b/c I was too tired to open my eyes- isn't that ridiculous?!?! That was my reasoning at the time. It was insanely loud thunder, I would have thought the windows were open. I kept waiting for Brianna to come get in bed with us. She has been great about sleeping on her own! I digress- it rained 1/2 an inch last night, not to mention the other times its rained this week. Admittedly the past 2 years we really were in bona fide drought. We went out to Lake Wilson last year, and it was about half its normal size. There were herons standing all through the lake (apparently made for some good fishing!) not just in the mud flats. The Neuse river was reduced to a trickle. I hope the whole rain trend continues- saves me time & money! The only drawback- mosquitos! I HATE MOSQUITOS!
