My 1st Official Blog

I have been weighing the pro's and con's of blogging for quite awhile now. On one hand it never seems like there are enough hours in the day to accomplish half of the things I intend to, on the other hand, I think it would be somewhat cathartic. I imagine it will be nice to look back on previous posts and see what life was like at a certain point in time. My kids are growing up so fast, Chris is 15 (gasp!), Katherine 10, Brianna 3, and Shawn -56 days. Perhaps this will be an easier way to record their lives than their oft neglected Baby Books!

I guess I will start with me... I'm 31, married to my soul mate/best friend. We have been blessed with (almost) 4 wonderful children. I think we must have a baby addiction! Everytime one of our children stops being a baby we have another one. I'm currently 8 months pregnant with our fourth (and last) child. It's bittersweet. Our family will be complete. 2 boys (my husband Elton refers to them as our "Bookends") and 2 girls. Each of our children have such unique distinctive personalitys- I can't wait to meet Shawn- I hope he's an easygoing baby! My primary aspiration in life is to be the best wife/mother I can be. Some days it feels like I am failing miserably, but other days I look at my children, full of pride, and think that I'm not doing too bad! I recieved my Batchelors degree in Biology and am currently working on my Master's of Library Science online. I'm not very far along in the program but am enjoying it thus far.

My husband Elton is my rock. He keeps me grounded. Not to say that he's perfect- but I wouldn't trade him! He works in pharmaceuticals and is currently working on his Master's of Business Administration. He is very ambitious and driven. We have many of the same goals and values. God truly blessed me when he brought him to me.

Chris is a typical teenage boy, one minute he is a monster, the next an angel. I think he gets his moodswings from me! Out of all of our children he is the one who reminds me the most of myself. His tastes and interests change on a whim, I guess he is just trying to find out who he is, and what his path in life will be.

Katherine is such a sweet quiet child- too nice at times. She has a lot of her fathers qualities about her, and a lot of my mother. I hope she has also inherited their inner strength. I think she has...

Brianna- I think this one will be a handful! I dread her teenage years! She is VERY mischevious, but also very loving. She has such a delightful personality, it's hard to stay mad at her for very long.

Enough background information. Tomorrow as soon as Chris gets out of school we will go to Williamsburg- our "home away from home". Elton and Katherine have been there since Sunday and I can't wait to see them. It's been a long 4 days. Busch Gardens will be open and we are looking forward to spending Easter at the campground. I truly love it there! They have so many great activities for the kids, I'm sure I will have plenty to blog about and hopefully some great pictures to post.
